Snow-Fall at HBS: Leaf Art Part 3

161215-snow-at-hbs-on-leaf

A leaf might fall, but it can still add life. It may snow outside, but life can still have colour. Basically just an excuse to paint since¬†finals are over ūüôā Acrylic paints on what’s probably a London Planetree leaf fallen on HBS campus. ¬†#LifeAtHBS #SnowAtHBS #BakerLibrary

A Century yet Eternal

It’s been 100 years since Bharat Ratna MS Subbulakshmi was born but her voice seems like it’s been¬†there since time immemorial. I always regret not being able to appreciate Carnatic music in its full glory but I can at least attempt to appreciate this stalwart and connoisseur of Carnatic music by sketching her in ink and water (with a slight mix of graphite). Just in time before it moves past her birth centenary in USA!

Prisma to Water Colour

Applying Prisma filters to digital photographs is getting mainstream. Attempted to convert a Prisma image to Water colour instead, of the cricketer who remained a purist in an era of switch hits and is of course my favourite cricketer of all time РRahul Dravid. Reference Рfile photo of Dravid taken at the ICC 2002 awards where he was the ICC Player of the Year and ICC Test Player of the year.

Back to school v2.0

160829 Giridhari

Year 2 at HBS begins tomorrow. 2 things have not changed over the last 12 months – my issues with punctuality, hence a delayed effort for #Janmashtami celebrations (Krishna’s birthday) and my attempt to create a water colour art on the eve of the academic year. Here, #Krishna is miraculously holding the #Govardhan mountain with his little finger ¬†amist a thunderstorm. It earned him the name #Giridhari and there are a lot of symbolic references in this event, but I shall skip them. Hope to make the most of the coming year! #Vamos

Who says you can’t do art in business formals?

Charcoal taj on wall

“Who says you can’t do art in business formals?” – The MINT gallery in Atlanta was moving from its current home and opened their walls¬†to people for a day to create something. Rushed¬†from an official visit (hence the formals)¬†and decided to leave behind something Indian – what better image than the Taj. Sketched¬†in 15 min with whatever little charcoal and wall-space was left at the gallery, but with much more¬†love for my country ūüôā

Holi-stically colourful

160324 Holi at HBS

Since I don’t have the colours, I’ll make do with these water colours – sketchy attempt to relive some spring break memories from Cartagena with a dash of holi “celebrations” before it’s officially past Holi!
(For my non Indian friends, Holi is the Festival of colours in India – is awesome fun when enjoyed responsibly and of course in much warmer weather :))

Wish you all a Happy Holi!
